Father John Misty season is upon us. We've heard three singles from his forthcoming album God's Favorite Customer and now we're treated to a surprise Lana Del Rey cover. Last night he performed an acoustic version of her brooding "Ride" at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards in Beverly Hills, before presenting her with a Global Impact award.
FJM's stripped-down cover reimagines the cinematic song, and hearing Josh Tillman sing, "You can be my full time daddy" feels oddly appropriate. Misty previously starred in Lana's "Freak" video.
