Haunting The Chapel

Castevet – “Red Aura”

On 8/1 Haunting The Chapel is presentng a show at the Studio @ Webster Hall in collaboration with Fred/BBG from BrooklynVegan. (You know, the guy who does their metal writing.) We organized a Keelhaul show together last year and it worked well, so we decided to try our hands at teamwork again. This time we’re hosting expansive Irish black metal crew Altar Of Plagues’ first ever NYC show along with the return of spacious Chicago-area misanthropic naturalists Velnias, Erik Wunder of Cobalt’s new Waits-on-Gira Man’s Gin project, and NYC’s Castevet (Feat. Ian Jacyszyn of grind/rave heroes Copremesis). I did a Castevet show last September — they played with Gnaw, Mick Barr, Period, tore up the stage. Since then, the NYC trio signed to Profound Lore and just released the excellent Mounds Of Ash. If you like muscular, streamlined hardcore with your epic blackened metal, you should dig it. Take a listen to “Red Aura.”
