Kanye West – “Moma’s Boyfriend” Live Video

Early this morning/very late last night, Kanye West held a secret show at New York’s the Box. He brought out a some big guests (John Legend, Estelle, Consequence, and Pusha T) and went through old and new tracks, including “Moma’s Boyfriend,” with Legend, below. You’ll have to get around the sound of people talking to enjoy it though. West enforced a strict dress code (men had to wear suits and ties to get in), and, according to BET, took time to shake hands with everyone on the way out. You’d think all that civility would get you a more polite audience, but, nope. Watch below and listen below to the “Movin’ Out”-sampling “Moma’s Boyfriend”:

In other West news, that rumored Bon Iver appearance? Confirmed. Rolling Stone says West flew Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon down to Hawaii to re-record parts of “Woods,” from the Blood Bank EP. Says West:

I called [Vernon] and we ended up becoming like really good friends, playing basketball together everyday, and going into the back studio and just record his parts. He’s similar to me, like where he just does shit just so people would be like, ‘Oh shit how did you do that? How did that happen?’ He’s just a really cool guy to be around.

During an interview Justin Vernon told me a story about breaking the stitches from his hernia surgery while meeting Saved By The Bell’s Mr. Belding. He passed out on the floor bleeding in front of Dennis Haskins. I hope that’s what West means by “Oh shit how did you do that? How did that happen?” I also hope he was careful on that basketball court.

West’s untitled album is out 9/14 via Roc-A-Fella Records.
