The Soft Moon – “Tiny Spiders”

“Tiny Spiders” is the closing track on San Francisco multi-instrumentalist Luis Vasquez’s self-titled the Soft Moon full-length debut. He continues the dark vibe of his previous 7″‘s, putting together something that’s New Romantic, Krautrock, post-punk, noisy, distant, anguished, engaged. He labels the stuff “world music.” The label mentions it’s “recommended for paranoid train rides in a post-apocalyptic world.” All of that works. And I like that the cover design looks Bauhaus — movement, not band. (But the band obviously works here, too.)
