This is the first studio listen from Oberst and his Mystic Valley Band’s new LP Outer South. We’ve had a live fix of the album’s “Nikorette“; “Slowly (Oh So Slowly)” comes with a lot more rollick and organ and down home rock, and instead of building on the glories of nicotine gum, CO’s addressing the idea of Potential and telling Dementia that “you better be good to me.” Because addressing abstract concepts in the first person is a thing you do when you are Conor Oberst.
