New Six Organs Of Admittance Video – “Anesthesia”

I already went into detail about Luminous Night’s recording process when we posted “The Ballad Of Charley Harper,” but it’s important to reiterate that it was helmed by Randall Dunn, who’s also worked with Earth, Wolves In The Throne Room, and most recently Sunn O))). Important because Dunn brings the same dark, smeary atmospheric depth to Six Organs Of Admittance’s eight new tracks, some of his heaviest — in many senses — to date. (Hell, “The River Of Heaven” could almost be recent Earth.) The psychedelic after-midnight colors, shapes, and fuzzed-out skies/knives/arms/etc circulating around Chasny in Cam Archer’s video for “Anesthesia” compliment the collection’s overall vibe. Ben tells us “[the] scenes of the cosmos were done by Cam with an old videotape recorder and an aquarium and some oils and the sun.” Archer also created the sunsetting clips for Six Organs’ “Goodnight” and “Shelter From The Ash.” Because like all of Chasny’s carefully chosen collaborators, he clearly gets it.
