not at all. I like to think of my personality as somewhere between Spongebob and Chance the Gardner. That's what I aim for. You wouldn't call them such a mean word, would you?
thanks. I think... if you have some blood pressure problem or something, I didn't mean to upset you so much.
and by the way, why automatically assume I am a dude? I could be female, and also, I could ride a horse really well, you never know.
Again, lots of name-calling and projecting, Mr. Beardo. I am defending the much more attacked person it seems to me, not you. You know who else defended the outcasts ? I mean, besides me: Jebus.
isn't fascism name-calling? I think it's about the worst name you can call someone. Why not practice what you preach, Sebastian Cabot?
I have never once been on Twitter, or Facebook, or Instagram. I tried reddit once, and couldn't figure out how to establish an account.
you say that Mr. Beardo, but I would not even know how to down vote you. Why would I do that? Also what is with the potty mouth? What about the children?
This is my theory of the Simpsons decline of about 20 years or so. It started out funnier than Southpark and King of the Hill, then quickly fell way behind these two until reaching about a Flintstones ordinariness--where it stays to this day. When it was good, at the start, it championed Bart, you may remember there were Black Bart T-shirts, the creators said they were thinking of Eddie Haskel as star. THEN, they transitioned to Homer, whose huge conformist rear-end they have kissed for the past 20 years, essentially becoming a show starring Potsy Weber. Now, the world is full of many more Potsy Webers than Eddie Haskels, so most people 'like' The Simpsons, the more mediocre and non-challenging, the better. Morrissey is offensive to the current show and current fans, because he has not transitioned to homer rear-end kissing, but has attempted to say non-conformist and critical of the herd. The herd here moos their offense, I tell you what. bleep bleep Morrissey, you get the rope, and so forth. Right?
no, hypocrite better describes The Simpsons, sorry. The followers of the Simpsons, I could see grouping together in mass, like their beloved "homer', carrying lighted torches and chanting group slogans, say, about how the Jews won't replace them, and so forth. The followers of Morrissey, would never join such a group. You feel so entitled to paint Morrissey with such a boogie man big brush, bigger than you would use on say Ted Nugent even, and he is friends to leftist Rage Against the Machine guy who played guitar for Bruce. Plus, and maybe this helps, Morrissey has greatest great works of art during the past 20 years, I've bought and played those records so I know, and the Stimpsons, not really. So best to ask your own question to yourself: why?
took him how many years? and you said the show's creators. I could have compared a real humorless Simpson's character: supposedly, the most PC-minded, Lisa Simpson. She was REALLY offended by the accusation, not offended at all by the racist stereotype. If Lisa cannot support you on the show, what hope do you have? By the way, have the Simpsons ever presented a Mexican-American character with any dignity at all? This by percentage is a bigger chunk of American humanity than black people, yet they are ignored on the Simpsons. Indians repeatedly mocked, and Mexican-Americans ignored. Why?
Apu is ONE racist character. Maybe this attack was trying to shift blame from the show's glass house?
...and I don't think any of these were ever subjected to hit piece attacks without facts. Why Morrissey?
Because that's just for more "moral" musical acts like Costello (after slinging the N word) and Bono (!), and AC-DC, and every horrible musical person they have ever had on the show in 40 years. but Morrissey is the worst. Right...
just to be clear, the down votes are not about James Brooks, Matt G, and Morrissey's BMI. This is not subjective. Please see photos. So...it's about the Apu thing, you guys don't mind racism by the Simpsons, and are angry that I pointed it out, right?
yes, thanks. Now, any advice on how to get back on Yahoo answers? I mean, I never use dirty words, but the Trump supporters (who uncleverly call me doo-doo head and so forth--and never get banned) complain and I get banned. This doesn't seem very freedom of speech, does it?
you say that, but soon it will be like with watches. Everyone has a phone with the time, so I can't find a watch strap or battery changing place anymore; and soon, the only electric razors will be beard groomers with attachments for beardos to use on their private parts and top of head. As for who is conforming and who is not, count them (beards in commercials vs. clean-shaven). It's like long-hairs at Woodstock, I tell you what!
The shows creators, much fatter than Morrissey throughout all relevant periods, do no such thing. You follow the Azaria/Apu controversy? They handled that well?
good use of the double negative to say I have a good clue. It is true that I just happened on here, usually I forget my password, start a new account, then get banned for multiple posting. This is a problem when you work full-time, you'll find out one day maybe.
Moi? but you know, I do like that album. I don't like the word wanking though. Too British.
the best I can tell, posters are mad at Morrissey for knowing stuff. The Simpsons do not have to know anything, they just insult, or 'troll', and that has replaced facts for those under 50. Right?
I feel like I am back in Junior High School in Oklahoma. I may set a record for negative votes, huh? -3 (not agreeing with the herd). How can I cover myself and fit in? uh, I gotta go play Minecraft on my er, smart phone. then, I'll text while driving. Who is Morrissey? and why doesn't he use autotune?
Well, as a TRULY racist characterture would say: 'thank you, come again'! (trademark: The Simpsons).
When I read posts like this, I worry about all the American mass shootings. this kind of post= that kind of person.
But he is an honest artist, and that would not be a true statement.
HIs voice is quite lovely, though. Ask Roy Orbison's son about 'It's Over'. Maybe not liking his voice says more about you than you'd like it to, wabz?
I wish Morrissey would write a song about beardos. My god, he must watch TV commercials in America and think, why does every single man on TV now have to have a beard? a cellphone in one hand, and a beard. These are the tennets of maximum conformitiy, aren't they?
His case is that the writers don't know anything about him, so it's not funny satire--based on truth, just out and out lies (e.g., he's not fat, he does not eat meat, he is popular as a solo/doesn't need his 80's group, he did not sue the 80's group 'for telling the truth', and he's not a racist. Ask a Mexican-American in Los Angeles, is Morrissey a racist? (you know, the man who wrote 'Mexico' with the line, "when you're rich and you're white, you think you're so right, I just don't see why this should be so...". In a word, the Simpson's writers were ignorant, so his complaints: valid.
So, Johnny Bravo, can we at least admit that Morrissey and Marr were only fighting for what Saint Bruce Springsteen has enjoyed throughout his career?: to pay the writers and singers in the group more than the non-writers and non-singers? I get the feeling that those people who prefer participation trophies and equal outcomes despite talent and effort, would support the least important two members of the Smiths in their bid to be paid as much anyway...
This may be his most challenging song to defend, but guess what? Why is every song/narrator's POV supposed to be Morrissey's ? also, it's not so much as 'embrace your culture' but embrace your dumb conformist culture with the platform shoes line. Morrissey is critical--which is not popular amongst ultra-conformists.
I'm going to call you T-Dummy. You wouldn't know much or anything about Morrissey after his first solo record. You barely knew him then, either, but your friends told him he was cool.
Yes, where conformity in the US is ubiquiious as Jebus used to be...
I have a Chinese screen-name and email name. I am not scared of analogies and hyperbole from a well-known agent provacateur. My feelings not hurt at all.
well, not exactly. the Chinese comment was a specific criticism of a VERY carnivorous society. I understand he wore a T=shirt of some political group that supported animal rights, but they were right wing. It's like admitting Trump was right about the sun coming up in the East, or a broken clock, twice a day. Never heard the Pakistnis line but no doubt you missed the context there as well. Now, on the other hand, when Elvis Costello called Ray Charles a "bliind N-word," where is the nuance there? The Simpsons episode with Costello has no such accusation.
Well, it's instructive to have a model. How about when the Simpsons says "Thank you, come again?" so many times. Kind of the racist gold standard, innit?
yes, they said he was fat, and he's not. they said he's so unpopular since the 80's, he can't play live without his 80's band. they said that the man who wrote "Mexico" and is beloved by LatinX in Los Angeles, is a racist. They said he sued because his 80's band 'told the truth,' when really, he and Johnny Marr just wanted to pay like Bruce Springsteen does---more to singers and writers, and the very old white wigged judge said he couldn't. What else? They said he's a liar about animal rights and not eating meat, when these things are important to him. So...pulled no punches means lying a lot? so why is that good?
