I was just thinking of Eleanor Rigby specifically the other day and how that's such a weird and good left-field song for someone like the Beatles to have written at that point, and that it's still just weird they started to write in that way after stuff like "She Loves You". Worked out really well...
FUCK this headline. you want people to click on it anyway so just put "Details of Prodigy's Death" or something WTF. Gross. Just cause it's true doesn't mean you make a glib little headline out of a human's life. sick.
lol at a scene forming around/because of the strokes. want to read this if only to see how it could possibly be convincing enough of this non-scene that probably was just a cobbling of dope fiends from like.... 3 bands?
you also continually force her uncomfortably into some imaginary pop context with comparisons to Michael jackson and shit and obsessing about song lengths. this literally is not pop music, its like thinking its really surpring that a Reich composition doesn't have chord-changes or something.
this list seems way way off save for including most of Ys. Like even from a totally subjective standpoint this list seems dumb. Tortured writing too, everything overstated and going nowhere.
Very much disagree with putting much thought at all into this Kendrick ad or being upset about and certainly saying that it might compromise his artistic integrity. Like you say, he's a fucking important rapper with serious, heavy, and in my opinion important messages, and something like this ad is so fucking deserved that taking any time to act like its a thing seems so ignorant. Dude isn't even on the radio that much, so right on for doin something that might spread yr beatuiful fucking music and message. i mean ya he's playing into some corporate game for a minute, but if he's actually the one using them does it matter? hopefully fucking sweat shops aren't involved, but other than all that shit, he can fucking try and sell me whatever he wants.
