that's something the apatow movies have going for them. the characters are challenged to grow the fuck up and get on with their lives. that's kind of the idea of a narrative arc, right?
Isn't my blueberry nights a Kar Wai Wong movie? I haven't seen it, but in the mood for love is pretty classic. and Crank definitely succeeded at what Shoot 'Em Up failed to pull off - being the quintessential action film while parodying the action film. Crank 2 will be a horrible failure, but I'll still see it.
I felt the same way at first. it's one of those things you have to let grow on you, and after I did, I realized there really were some good songs in there. not every one, and they're not as life changing as people say they are, but they have an authentic knack for what they do.
I thought the "lurmin train" was very very funny, and it went downhill from there. but yes, fleet foxes converted me with their awesome live performance.
it takes a real monster bitch to make elizabeth hasselbeck seem smart.
ann coulter is the literal manifestation of the term "media whore". she let's the media use and degrade her, while she makes money from it. fuck her hard, people. she likes it rough.
but what about fractals? I personally see math as something we've discovered. it's been surprisingly consistent for thousands of years. and the same concepts apply to so many different things! pi came from a circle, but then you apply it to ohm's law and it all over electricity as well!
the only problem is, while we have observed micro-evolution (adaptation), we have not observed macro-evolution (adapting from one species into another). there are valid arguments for either side.
you have a point! I think they're just desperate to save the show from being cancelled. word on the street is, if they don't get ratings up this season, it's the axe.
oh, yes! I pretended to fall asleep during this movie just so people wouldn't think I was actually watching it. when they left the room, I turned it off. unwatchable garbage. thank God I wasn't stuck in the theater like I was during across the effing universe (still the worst!)
I have deep respect and admiration for the mentally disabled, or all disabled for that matter, but honest to God, the word does not bother me. it may be blunt, but its meaning holds true. it is really the exact thing that these people deal with. mental retardation. maybe the only reason people take issue with it is because of the stigma attached to it. if anything, it's better than patronizing them with "special".
