Enjoy the video of Pete Weber. Ignore the awful music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbfmzjcPpvs
If you pause that video at :19? I think the guy sitting down speaks for all of us.
If the Oscars were given for neat tricks by the director, then Memento should have won it a decade ago. Scratch that...gimmick aside, Memento should have won. It was awesome. The Artist will be like Crash in two years, an "ugh, that won best picture?" flick.
Where's Nolte's finger?!
Adam effing Sandler. Don't get me started. That was the other "wait, WTF did he say?" moment. We got to hear from Sandler that he allows us to see a little bit of himself in every film he's ever done and he thinks, that by the time he's 80, he'll have put it all out there. I can hardly wait. Amiright?
Reese Witherspoon's bank account needs to be investigated today, along with Goldie Hawn's and Kurt Russel's. Seriously, I think she may have had the worst night of anyone. Well, her and Sheri Sheppard's bra.
The campaign for 2013 host begins NOW people! Rich Little....Change you don't necessarily have to believe in because all my imitations and jokes are of/intended-for dead people, just like Billy Crystal!
That was the exact re-enactment of our house. Wildly-over-the-top intro, tempered expectations, me in tears and companion wondering why I'm in tears.
I think Maya Rudolph is the female equivalent of Jimmy Fallon on SNL. The majority of people did not like Maya or Jimmy much on SNL. But in the years that have passed, they are both now very well liked.
Hey everyone...LiLo doesn't host until March 3. So just cool your jets for two weeks. Also, Jack White is on there too. Won't he offset some of the weirdness/badness? Me thinks yes.
Two things about these recaps: 1) I love hearing Bill Hader give the Hulu opening 2) I loved loved loved this episode Oh, and Taran Killam's Pitt never gets old (BAHHHHH!)
Kudos to the producers for getting their timing right!! I mean, getting Mitt Romney to dub his voice over that old guy at the :45 second mark? Brilliant!
I'm in 100% agreement with Kelly. I never liked Fallon on SNL. Hated seeing him get Late Night. And now he's the best. Something about that timeslot on NBC...the one slot that hasn't destroyed itself. He seems like one of the nicest and most genuine people out there, which thus makes him a little more funny because, hey, who wants to laugh at some dickhead? Ricky Gervais knows what I'm talking about.
Yes, "one moment"...with the momen encapsulating every second he was on camera. And I don't think it was alcohol induced, but instead a white, fine powder-like substance. Good lord, Kattan.
Vogelcheks, go away. That one-note has rung its course. Andre the Giant may be top three sketches of the year so far. Florence not sounding good? Really? I actually and literally said to my wife during the show, "wow, unlike some bands on this show she sounds insanely good." Wonder what Stereogum thinks. Regis & Kelly was solid. And I thought that was the best SNL Short of the season too. Ricky Gervais was spot on awesome, though. And even though he's really proven to do one thing great in his short SNL stay so far, Jay Pharoah's Denzel is hysterical. Also, too little Taran Killam.
I thought the Cee Loo Green sketch was a poor bastard child of What Up Wit Dat. It was like the writers said, "what other way can we use Kenan Thompson as an over-the-top-host?" and someone said, "How about we basically do What Up With That, only Cee Loo is the host!" and everyone answered, "That's gold!!" The writing was not great this week as they didn't give Charlie enough to do. Then again, when you look at a "normal" SNL show, it was probably above average. I guess what I'm saying is...we love Charlie Day. The Rick Perry bit was great, though. So was the detective.
Cakes Away - I am late to this party, but I think I am just now getting it.
The Ten (Best Presents Ever)
Poor Jemaine Clement. Seriously, get the band back together, Jemaine.
"You know what, we need to bring more unlikable, unfunny people into this picture!" "I hear Joe Rogan may be available." "SOLD" - Somewhere in Hollywood about 18-months ago working on this barf-o-rama
I'm sorry. I thought I was on the website that shows up Coppercab vid caps whenever they go up. (pack your bags, everyone, we're going on a guilt trip!)
Man, birthers are really losing their shite today now that Obama released his birth certificate. They even left the trailer.
Lost in Translation. She was great in that, basically playing Cameron Diaz.
Actually, I think it's Booooooooof with nine o's.
Fox 2: Unfair and More Unbalanced
I thought that was the best sketch of the night IMHO.
Lady Gaga. It was Lady Gaga. Check her old pathetic solo musical numbers in NYC.
So far, we have murder/depression/sadness w/Dahmer and Roseanne - which is the same as Dahmer only swapping murder for comedy. This is like Up in the Air today....entertaining yes, but in the end, we're probably a little depressed for going on this journey.
Is Pryor's Place also on Netflix? Enquiring minds want to know.
Sweet jesus. Downvotes to anything involving Ethan Suplee. He even made Butterfly Effect worse (I mean, better, but in a 'worse' kind of way).
Clip here: Gublin & Green Duhhh. Why couldn't I remember that. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/14/snl-spider-man-musical_n_822586.html
One skit that deserves mention...the lawyer representing people injured from Spider Man Turn Off the Dark (minus Samburg's impression). That was TBS. - Never Forget
The new cast members need one or two skits to stand out in to put them on my "ok I like him" list. Killam did that with the carnival-singer skit w/Jim Carrey. His Eminem was solid too. I like him. More of him, more Abby Elliott, more Pedrad! Bayer, Brittain and Pharoah are taking up space.
The Office won the night. It's back in awesome form. Jim and Pam were the best they've been in a while. 30 Rock...you are soooo good.
What's with all this rap music? - your mom
Not to be the turd in the x-mas punchbowl, but that was the worst 30 Rock of the season. The Office...thumbs up.
I know we all love to rip on the awards going to Modern Family over 30 Rock, but at this point, let's all get over it. It's like the Grammy's. Nobody gives a shit about any of those anymore because they mean nothing. That being said, Modern Family is a funny show and it's gotten better this season. Then again, like Gabe, I'm 63 years old and what do I know. I do know families though. Families the darndest things. Vinegar strokes/The League may be the winner last night, though. Sorry 30 Rock. You were a 9, but League was a 10.
Erin = the worst. The. Worst. This case is dismissed before it's even begun. Ruining the show and is the anti-Andy.
