After his last decade of releases, it's hard for me to imagine a scenario where a new Nick Cave album isn't in my top 2-3 of the year. And after the first listen, Carnage definitely fits into that category. How the hell does someone who wrote "The Mercy Seat" 33 years ago keep getting better with age?! Truly bonkers.
Their debut is, for my money, the best sounding "folk" album ever. Miles wasn't just an excellent musician/songwriter, he was also so good at texture and using the studio (or a tape deck and some crickets) to elevate his songs. So sad :(
The shirt is kinda boring, but Kacey Musgraves can still have my money. What a treasure.
I think I speak for all of us when I say "holy fucking fuck!" Hope she's in good health now and has a solid support system around her.
I love to shit on U2 as much as the next guy, but Bono sounded slick as fuck on DAMN.
Legit shocked that 69 hasn't ended up back in prison and/or shanked yet. Which, good for him? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's like Sia never even saw Tropic Thunder.
Am I the only one who's low key excited to see if she folklore's the shit out of her older stuff? I was never a huge fan before last year, but the idea of peak production Taylor remaking the country stuff that kinda turned me off in high school is interesting.
So glad to see Madlib getting love here. Sound Ancestors is my album to beat so far in 2021.
Peggy Lee's album "Latin ala Lee" was one of my best purchases of 2020. Can't recommend that one enough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9pgxT4bkhg
Who's gonna be the one to tell him that's not what they mean by "blood diamond"?
These accusations were all in the public record before he filmed any of them. Everyone knew Evan Rachel Wood was talking about him when she testified. I don't understand why it took her explicitly saying his name for everyone to all of a sudden start taking the accusations seriously.
Only calling out Grimes here because her comments about these allegations were reported on here LITERALLY four days ago.
Just to be clear, Grimes (and everyone else) knew these allegations before this morning, even though MM's name wasn't part of ERW's testimony. I'm glad people have decided to jump off his proverbial wagon, but it's sad that his wagon was even running this past decade after all this stuff was in the public record.
Her solo work is great, but my favorite SOPHIE moment is her production on "Yeah, Right". So creative—I'm going to be sad about this one for awhile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6iAzyhm0p0
