Radiohead, Soundgarden, Pavement... I suspect tomorrow's acoustic set is will reveal that this start up is just an excuse for Billy to add coffee to his hate rant list
"basically it goes back to the early expeditions of Pandora, and kind of what went wrong with the humans and the Na’vi "
Pretty sure when I saw the film the whole "what went wrong" was humans wanted magic substance, the Smurfs from Ferngully didn't want to move. It's basically the most simple thing ever. There's nothing more to be discussed there. We get it. Corporate baddies is "what went wrong" with natives. In fact, wasn't that basically the ENTIRE plot? Does Cameron genuinely believe he has created something complex? Alternatively, is he rather cunningly describing not a prequel but a remake?
Next week's opening lines on Breaking Bad:
Walt to Jesse: "I've got some good news and some bad news. The good news is you can have Mike's donut share..."
Yeah that's true. For some reason in my head I was equating sheet music with notated music. In fairness, it's hardly my fault that the ancient world was so attached to rock or stone tablets. I guess that was probably the fault of the RIAA of the times who likely objected to the move to papyrus... "Tablet copying is killing music".
It's quite funny that we can describe publishing music in the manner that it has been released for the vast majority of the few thousand years of music history as "unusual".
There's a shop I go into every morning on my way to work and I swear that they've been playing this every other day over the last month along with "Sing It Back" by Moloko. Not sure if it's just terribly small playlists on local Scottish radio stations or just that they have a tape they can't get out the machine but it's like the summer of '99 all over again and I can't deny that it has been consistently bringing a smile to my face for the brief moments before I realise I'm on my way to work...
I fixed it....

A sly declaration of new classic status slipped in to a list of old safe ones. Very NME....
I think it's sad that we live in a world where a post containing a glimpse of Shia LaBeouf's penis is tagged NSFW but a picture of Billy Corgan that sits all week in the Most Commented section contains no such warning.
Back in 1997/98, I remember having a midi version of Paranoid Android that I actually used to listen to that sounded a bit like this so weirdly this actually takes me back.
Quite interesting that the first list in a long time from the NME not to include Kasabian comes on the same day it is announced that the current editor is leaving.
You shouldn't mock them. They didn't just get some nobody copywriter in PR. They got the PRESIDENT!!! A position with so much responsibility that she has time to respond to "journalists" about ALL matters.
Gosh that comment about the Foo Fighters makes me look a bit of a dick. Just listened to Everlong for the first time in ages and it's still awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBG7P-K-r1Y
What's with the Fortune/CNN article? It seems to go to great lengths to tear apart the people involved in this for no reason other than it not being the iOfficial apple movie "Money, of course, is no guarantee of quality" but we're going to pick apart the lack of credits this team of nobodies has anyway?!? Stressing imdb ratings? Really?
I remember seeing Deerhunter a few years back in Glasgow and he was irritated at the low temperature up on stage which resulted in him extending songs to include repeated references to Christmas. Definitely the best Christmas jams I've heard in June.
Is this the film that ends with the native american in tears at what has happened to his country? Or does he just ignore the vast majority of the country's history?
