Because legends live forever.
Oh thank the lord this is finally on the way!
So I listened to a couple of these songs, but like others have said they were pretty unsatisfying. It made me really want to listen to Jail Break by Thin Lizzy. Somehow that is way more satisfying.
People are going to buy their chucks anyways.
That list is lacking a good dose of Bob Mould, The Mountain Goats, and Walkmen.
I know this is specifically albums, but the omission of Nine Black Poppies is kind of glaring. Other than that, excellent list. I appreciate that there isn't much emphasis on the rankings themselves.
John Darnielle is so consistently good it feels like people take the Mountain Goats for granted.
Definitely Rubber Soul! The beginning of the transition from the super poppy stuff to just being flat out amazing. And Drive My Car is one of the best songs ever!
Funny that we didn't realize some of those albums were so good until now.
Hindsight is 20/20, we're never going to know who the modern equivalents are until years have passed and we can see what stands out.
Man, Elephant 6 has been hit young. They lost Will Westbrook of the Gerbils a few years ago. And now Bill Doss. You will be missed. Long live the music!
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
I almost missed the fact that he was soloing because he actually has hair here.
Just noting... 602 is the area code for Phoenix. Dunno what it is for Oxford, but phx is definitely 602.
