This is a video montage of everything on Tumblr.
Still a better choice than "I'm Not Your Hero" or "Love They Say" though.
The choices they've made for singles from this record have been pretty atrocious so far. If they don't decide to cash in on "I Couldn't Be Your Friend" it will be a shame: it's the most relevant-sounding pop song on this parade of selling out.
I guarantee this is not the worst Radiohead tattoo. Have you seen some of the shitty tattoos people have nowadays? At least this is skillfully done (you can actually tell it's Thom Yorke) and kind of clever, in an abstract sort of way.
She's such a sweetheart. I love her.
I was expecting this to be a total clusterfuck, but it's actually pretty slick. I'm really digging it.
This one really hits home.
Not half bad. Includes a lot of the songs I consider to be among their best. My only gripe is "Portions For Foxes" at number one. I have a hard time taking anyone who claims that a bands most well-known song is their "best" seriously. That's like saying Joy Division never did anything better than "Love Will Tear Us Apart", or Death Cab's crowning achievement is "Soul Meets Body".
I must be thinking of something else then.
Much better than last year, when the headliners were Incubus, Linkin Park, and Mute Math.
No, seriously, you guys couldn't be bothered to put ANY thought into this list?
"Nineteen" is terribly overrated.
Boo this list is horrendous and mostly singles anyway!
I like Dave Grohl, but I think the fact that he thinks that there isn't very much "interesting" music being made nowadays speaks to how out-of-touch he's becoming.
Very cool. I've loved Metric for years, and MNDR is one of my favorite up-and-comers, so for me, this is a pretty amazing melding of the minds.
It's not bad. I liked "One Way Trigger" better though.
No amount of reworking can make this song sound less contrived.
What's to feel guilty about?
Meh, they've pulled off better. Overall, not worth the ticket price in my opinion.
This should have been the first Heartthrob single. This fits a lot better into the "sassy breakup song" trend that's sweeping through pop music right now, and it's a lot less tacky than "Closer".
This is the most impressive of the new tracks I've heard; I really do like the pseudo-Prince feel of it. That being said, it's the first new song I've heard from that I can stand to sit through at all. While "Sainthood" did have stuff like "Alligator" that is more electronic and pop-oriented and can't imagine obvious the next step is to work with Kelly Clarkson's producer. Greg Kurstin is a hack, and there are hundreds of other, more relevant, more talented producers who probably could have turned this record out in a major way, if they wanted to go in the electro-pop direction. Over all I'm very disappointed in what I've heard of this record so far. Hopefully when it comes out at the end of the month, I'll be proven wrong and it will be as great as the last three records, but I'm not going to hold my breath for it.
"Yoshimi" got the shaft here. Easily one of their best.
Well put me on the band wagon; I like it. Nice use of the Radiohead sample, voice sounds good. Lyrics are on the okay side. Whether or not this is just the product of some clever producer and okay song writer hired by her label is kind of irrelevant to me, because why I should I really give a shit one way or the other when the end product is good?
You elitists take music so seriously. It's fun and catchy. Making music that is fun and catchy is in and of itself a talent. Not everything's gotta be "The House That Heaven Built" (not to knock it, though).
Wow, I actually knew of most of these bands this year. Last year was a whole lot of "who's that?"
I would love some new Glasser, but I haven't heard anything about her in what seems like forever.
If #1 had been anything other than "Fairy Tale of New York" I would have had to call shenanigans on the whole list. Well done Stereogum.
Love the cover. I still maintain that "Closer" is horribly disappointing, considering the quality of their work up until this point.
Who the hell is pushing "Call Me Maybe"?
I have a hard time believing that Taylor Swift has made an album that is better than Sleigh Bell's "Reign of Terror". I'm gonna have to call shenanigans. Also I don't get the hype over Jessie Ware. I find her dull.
I am over these two and their subversive, backasswards bullshit. Seriously.
"Venus in Furs" "Heroin" "All Tomorrow's Parties" Maybe my views are a little "The Velvet Underground & Nico"-centric, though.
Does that mean that everybody hates Jaguar by associate now?
