mtv makes me want to smoke crack
it's funny that midnite vultures would bum you out, all things considered, but yeah - i don't really like it either...just Debra from JC Penny's
could have used a lil Debra action though
goooooooood list. real good. thanks for including Chemtrails! i feel like no one ever talks about that album in general.
spot on with the labyrinth thingy thang
if anything they're fresh out the mic'o' beefaroni dude
i agree that "foxygen" is a dumbass band name, but i LOVE this stuff they're pumping out. they're dancing around the 60s ever so fancily and expertly.
the forced whispery vocals are cringeworthy
agreed! i had that on repeat for weeks
I WANT A SLAUGHTERHOOOOOUUUUUSSSEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
All three Ty Segall albums should be on every year end list. Slaughterhouse was a revelation.
hahah spot on with the description
totally! they're all "OMG OMG"...whatever, lady.
identity crisis! i don't know what to make of this. i think i like it. i'm also really confused why this song is the big hit off of Lonerism. i thought for sure "why won't they talk to me" was going to be the single.
did he do it because of those stupid signs above the trash cans? they actually instruct you to put your grenades in the trash can if you happen to have one.
Rubber Soul - I think my favorite part about it is that Brian Wilson said he heard Rubber Soul and then wanted to top it, so he made Pet Sounds. That's amazing. Abbey Road got me into the Beatles, but Rubber Soul made me faaaalll in loooooovvveee
i agree 100%. i can't stand that hyper-produced sound, but i suppose this direction was inevitable in the wake of Discovery. i also heard that they lost their cellist before this album :-(
video is here now: http://www.spin.com/articles/black-keys-sister-video-schoolgirls?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=110812
reminds me of that one song by The Waterboys
yeah, this album is pretty lame
i kiiind of lost interest in VW when they started messing around with auto-tune, but if this is any indication of what their new body of work will be like then i'm back on the saddle. sensing some beach boys vibes in here. maybe even some ben kweller, but that might just be because they're talking about train tracks.
i refuse to fall for this
in the words of lou reed...i like to watch things on tv.
spot on with the belle & sebastian comparison for stephanie says
i'd leave Heroin off of my top 10 too. great list!
i wonder what the other songs were. i think "Through the Grass" would lend really well for a video.
so hype on this album. san fran is putting out the best stuff right now
this is what they sounded like before
