Hahaha. This is pretty low-key for Biffy Clyro (in terms of getting weird with their covers) but when the weirdness drops during the solo it's pretty awesome.
Ignorant comment warning: How are they allowed to do sets like this in a cemetery? Isn't that...uncouth? Or is this cemetery just so old that no one really cares anymore?
Don't know if I'd want The National crooning over my dead father's grave.
Actually, if Stereogum is looking for the big stars to shine, they should be pleased by the shining moments of Josh Homme, Troy, Dean, Michael, Grohl, and Castillo.
One of the best things that my friends and I have come to realize is that we all disagree on favorite songs. Mine are Vampyre, Missing and the title track. It seems like everyone has different favorites, which might hint at a solid album through and through.
Your downvotes are undeserved. Queens are a great live band to experience, but I would never show a live version of a song to a QotSA newbie before I showed them the recorded version.
With that said, conversely, I think we should withhold judgment on these songs until we hear the recorded versions.
I agree. I prefer this dark, serious Josh to the kind of Sassy Bitch Josh from Sick Sick Sick, Misfit Love, I'm Designer, etc... Don't get me wrong, I like Sassy Bitch Josh; I just prefer him in this style.
