I think that it's a pretty deep comment, actually. Lots of weird things going on in that comment there.
This is a perfect happy medium between the crunch of Humbug and the soothing songs on Suck It And See.
Hahaha. This is pretty low-key for Biffy Clyro (in terms of getting weird with their covers) but when the weirdness drops during the solo it's pretty awesome.
Ignorant comment warning: How are they allowed to do sets like this in a cemetery? Isn't that...uncouth? Or is this cemetery just so old that no one really cares anymore? Don't know if I'd want The National crooning over my dead father's grave.
Tonight was the greatest ever; an awesome pump-up, before-you-hit-the-town record that I don't think many other records can emulate.
Pissed myself reading this comment. Pure gold.
No Queens of the Stone Age? http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view/201665/trololo-o.gif
Actually, if Stereogum is looking for the big stars to shine, they should be pleased by the shining moments of Josh Homme, Troy, Dean, Michael, Grohl, and Castillo.
One of the best things that my friends and I have come to realize is that we all disagree on favorite songs. Mine are Vampyre, Missing and the title track. It seems like everyone has different favorites, which might hint at a solid album through and through.
I think this album is better than Songs For The Deaf and I find it strange that you focused on contributing artists.
Your downvotes are undeserved. Queens are a great live band to experience, but I would never show a live version of a song to a QotSA newbie before I showed them the recorded version. With that said, conversely, I think we should withhold judgment on these songs until we hear the recorded versions.
I agree. I prefer this dark, serious Josh to the kind of Sassy Bitch Josh from Sick Sick Sick, Misfit Love, I'm Designer, etc... Don't get me wrong, I like Sassy Bitch Josh; I just prefer him in this style.
This album is going to be SO. AWESOME.
The RIAA has found a way to make their job more relevant: creating GIF images of how irrelevant the RIAA is becoming.
Yes, yes you do need to find that.
It kind of does, now that you mention it, except 10x more random and insane.
...am I the only person who sees that this review is simply "0"? Is this some huge Stereogum inside joke that I'm missing out on?
