There was supposed to be a clever gif of the wrestling superstar being kicked in the chin, but I can't even do that right. :(
Aw, buddy... you're not irrelevant or unneeded. You're like the Vince McMahon of Stereogum. Someone has to take the hits and keep things interesting around here.

Yeah, yeah... I know I won't shut up about "Head In The Ceiling Fan."
Michael_, I always see your comments on "Shut Up Dude" and various posts here, but would be interested in checking out some of your reviews. I know you're trying to lay low on the self-promotion lest you be downvoted to oblivion, but it seems like that's happening anyways, so maybe you could shoot me a link to your blog? I wouldn't have heard that new Title Fight single without ya, bud.
Is he not including Four Tet, John Talabot, Boards of Canada, Teen Daze, Manual, Aphex Twin and the multitudes of artists out there creating amazing "electronic dance music" when he says "EDM is the bottom of the barrel" or is he really that naive? I find his statements especially confusing since the strongest tracks on Fragrant World are those that are more electronic based.
Who the hell is downvoting you?
That was my first thought when I heard this song. Michael_ actually posted it a while back in the comments and I thought for sure there were members of Hum involved.
This track definitely has a J. Robbins feel to it. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the one who produced the album. I guess we'll know in a month?
I still love everything up until Wide Awake/Digital Ash, but he sorta lost me after that, particularly with his solo work. But this... this is the Conor I knew and loved.
Come on and put an album out already, guys!
Is the new Title Fight out yet? I checked out "Head In The Ceiling Fan" and thought it was incredible, but was under the impression the album wasn't coming out for a couple more months.
Agreed. I wouldn't even say they sound that dated... they just sound like Desaparecidos. On that note, I'm excited as shit to see them play at the end of the month.
Are these Title Fight guys ex-Hum members? That track is incredible, but definitely has a Hum/Autolux vibe to it.
A quick google search confirmed that the answer is no. They're both on Ed Banger records and they've collaborated together though.
Is SebastiAn the same artist as Sebastien Tellier?
I'd listen to Bill Callahan collaborate with Ke$ha. I don't even like the guy.
"When I saw [Seth Winged Sun's posts] on stereogum... I said, "That sounds very familiar"... it felt reductive." -rubberjohnny0829
Listen, Ceremony is great and all, but you had better not be bad-mouthing the Boss.
They're going to wonder what in the fuck civilization was doing.
I think it'd be way cooler if they covered all of Psychocandy instead of the same song 11 times...
I saw Costello a few years back at Freedom Hill in Michigan. The tickets were free aside from the $5 "service fee" and although we showed up about 5 songs into his set we still heard another 2 or 3 hours of music. He literally played FOUR encores. I'm curious where you paid $100 to see him and how much of that had to do with Elvis Costello and how much of it had to do with his label/promoters.
It's a great track, but didn't this come out in 2008?
Fantastic. Not that I'm surprised.
I wondered where it went to... unfortunately Vimeo has taken it down too, but you can at least hear it here... http://www.4shared.com/audio/h1wggfrf/Azealia_Banks_-_212.html
Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer is easily my favorite. There isn't a track on that album that's not solid.
Jimmy Fallon is terrible at everything besides listening to good music.
Every single one of your comments is bitching about Stereogum's content. Well, except for one where you're defending Coldplay. Let's review a few gems from your comment history... "How arrogant and self-obsessed have alternative music publications become? And btw, this list totally sucks." "Horrible idea." "Just goes to show you that white hipsters stay losing ignoring authentic music made by black artists." "Dear Science is overrated." "There’s a ridiculously pathetic pretentious Catch 22 with indie music fans..." Why don't you find another website to whine on? Or in your words: "Fuck out of here with that bullshit."
The new Mountain Goats and new Okkervil River albums are probably my favorite thus far. I found it strange they weren't even mentioned much in the comments.
Really digging this new mix. I think you may have topped last years.
COME TO THE WEST COAST, JESUS CHRIST, MAN!
Here's one of "Common People" from last night... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uImXdi00eDI&feature=player_embedded#at=327
