He floated into space yesterday for 2.5 hours, which would have been a great opportunity to watch The Master and then think about it for a short while. I didn't have 2.5 free hours yesterday.
Don't get me wrong, whining can be fun every now and then. Maybe 2-3 times a week is a bit too much. Do you think these lists succeed at being "informative and illuminating works of analysis that provide value to the expert and novice alike"? I think most readers check the ranking and stop reading after getting annoyed. I can honestly say I've done it more than once.
I don't think anyone really thinks you do it on purpose, it's just funny because it seems to happen a lot.
If we are on the subject, I personally feel that this format overshadows the actual content that might be in these things. If you are being completely honest about the innocence of these lists maybe you should reconsider them because they do get a lot of attention but I think it's mainly negative.
This situation happened before
Charlie: I wrote a musical. It's pretty damn good, OK? I wanna put it on.
Mac: Right, what's your angle?
Charlie: I don't have one.
Dee: Yeah, whose—whose face are we shoving this musical in?
Charlie: You don't shove a musical in someone's face. What are you talking about?
Mac: Right, but who versus? Who are we doing it versus?
I personally didn't know too much about the guy's personality, but he wrote "The problem with music" back in 1993 and that's pretty groundbreaking. I thought he might have something interesting to say about the subject. Instead he is just very petty and maybe a little jealous at the singer who did something groundbreaking in 2012...
"I Don’t know Amanda Palmer, and don’t recall ever hearing her music, though I hear a lot of music."
Implying Amanda Palmer is not important while sounding like a total douchebag is not helping anything Steve!
I absolutely agree. Also, fireworks.
However I think there cannot be a good AnCo's best 10 songs list. It's very personal and they have too many styles that cannot be represented in just 10 songs. If the point of this list is to get people into the band, this is the wrong way.
If the point of this list is to declare that you don't think "My Girls" is that good, you could have just summed it up in one sentence.
