I'm not going because I am not 21 and live on the other side of the state, but if I was going I'd be so scared that this scenario would happen:
I enter and everyone runs up asking who I am. "Are you one of the funny ones that make us laugh?" they'll say. And I'll say "No, I'm Jon1331, I don't comment much nor am I particularly funny or charming". And then they'll say "Oh, ok, you're boring" and ignore me the rest of the night and I go home :(ing.
I'm getting nightmares just thinking about it.
I watched this while listening to that new Hot Chip song (that's right, I browse Stereogum and Videogum at the same time), and it made this video as a whole a lot better.
I feel like the second to last sentence in this article is missing a large chunk of itself. But yeah, this song is beautiful, I can't wait to hear the rest!
"Vampires drive their hybrid cars like Vin Diesel drives his dinner trays."
I have absolutely no idea what this means, but that didn't stop it from being the funniest thing I've read/heard today.
Not to be Lady Gaga's #1 Fan over here or anything, but complaining about proper grammar in music seems pretty silly. I mean, there are plenty of lyrics, song titles, album titles, even band names that don't use proper grammar, and why should they? Art doesn't need to have rules! Unless you were being sarcastic, in which case I look like an ass and apologize.
I added my real name because I actually really liked this movie and this is a kinda neat idea. Of course, that didn't stop me from adding Videogum as my middle name.
"...it was not long before they had hatched a plan to reunite their parents."
It wasn't until here that I realized this was basically The Parenator Trap (flawless portmanteau). Is that bad? How good is that compared to other monsters?
As someone who is relatively well versed in anime, I can tell you this is my most favorite thing ever. The catchy, upbeat theme song, the bead of sweat on Bill Clinton, the stars and explosions, the various character introductions, everything about this is absolutely perfect.
Weak? Those segues are a quick glimpse of what a literary master can do when confronted with an extraordinary challenge, in this case "how do I segue from non Topher Grace news into Topher Grace news?"
Wait, I don't get the second one. I mean yeah, that was an incredibly selfless thing to do (assuming it's all true), but wouldn't it have been easier to let go of the gas, eventually slow to a stop, and not drive into the side of a building? Or at the very least, the building part? I feel like buildings are pretty easy to avoid most of the time.
Also, can we talk about how Abed's Batman was incredible? I'm pretty sure his delivery of the "predictable but appetizing!" line was completely perfect.
I think one of the best parts was that instead of using rock classics, he used MIDI versions of rock classics, that he may have even made himself. THAT'S dedication.
I know what Gabe means, last night was three straight hours of hilarious television. That might be a little too much! I mean, by the time I got to The League I was actually kind of exhausted from all the laughing. On the other hand, I have six new shows to watch every Thursday now, so it's basically Christmas every week.
Part of me wants to win this impromptu contest because everyone wants to be the best at something, but the rest of me hates throwing up and depression, so I shall respectfully withdraw.
