I enjoy getting a little taste of an album but why do bands put so many songs out before the album even drops, it kinda ruins the album listening experience. i wanna listen to an album in its entirety, not in bit in pieces.
Agree people "Two" is one of the best songs this year and so was "Snookered" and they got snubbed
these list are stupid anyway, how can one group speak for everybody for what is the best songs, its all about personel prefrences..... But if i had to pick, The Dodo's " Acorn factory", great fucking song
One band thats been excluded from all these list is "Explosions in the sky" and not to mention Boards of Canadas " Campfire Headphase" and " Geogaddi."
I just notice that U2 "No line on the Horizon" is #36 on the list
* beating my head against a desk*
O man, and then i noticed 50 cent was on the top 50 albums as #37
* ran into oncoming traffic*
Your right about the top ten songs being dead on, not to my liking or anything but as far as popularity and the people majority, its dead on, i still hear those song once in a while on the radio.
And scooter69, ya dude, sea change was good but personaly The information was what took it for me, and i don't think modern guilt gets enough credit, "volcano" was one of my favorite Beck songs
They nailed it with the top 6, i'm accually really suprised with this list. But the songs, not so much, its pretty tough saying what the best songs of of the 2000's are, theyre are way to many that were so good.
06 Arcade Fire - Funeral
05 The White Stripes - Elephant
04 Jay-Z - The Blueprint
03 Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
02 The Strokes - Is This It
01 Radiohead - Kid A
I know Wilcos new album wasn't the strongest they've made but they don't deserve this
39. Wilco - Wilco (Wilco The Album)
32. U2 - No Line On The Horizon
I agree with sufjan at some level with everything he said but some things are better kept to yourself because otherwise it doen't make a musician look like the confident artist everyone hopes for. Everybody on this site can without a doubt think of that one band or solo artist that fucked it all up by doing to many interviews and less music.
He should use that attitude and write some music instead of doing these interviews.
Here are just some of the albums that kayne, beyonce, justin timberlake beat for the BEST albums of the 2000's
- Wilco " Yankee Hotel Foxtrot"
- The Strokes " Is this it"
- Bon Iver " For emma, forever ago"
- Broken Social Scene " You forgot it in people"
- The microphones " The glow pt.2"
I can go all day with this but you get the point....
This is Headhphone heaven:
Been a fan for years but this is so great and diffrent. Piano's stay in tact and the ambient sounds that i'm so familiar with are solid as ever, but the vocals is what makes this new and exciting. I'm suprised no one else wrote anything about this yet, way to underrated.......
Imagine Explosions in the sky combined with radiohead when they made " The Bends"
Anyway this deserves to be listen to 7 more times so i'll end this now..
pretty sure the public won't recgonize good music that has came out because they are to busy listening to the likes of owl city's "Fireflys" and Katey perry shit.
People can argue and overlook this thing way to much but hes not trying to get back at anybody and if he was, he failed...badly. I imagine the people booing and yelling are of nazi decent or jewish decent, regardless its offensive to the people in germany, and this generation needs to learn to respect what happen.
Pretty sure if the crowd was yeling at him and booing then thats the que to stop playing the F-ing song. He doesn't have alot of credibility, knowing his past, and trying to have a rebuttal is kinda ridiculous at this point.
But i agree with lily on this one, hes a trainwreck, and probably has no idea what hes doing at this point in his life, but that doesn't mean he can do whatever the hell he feels like.
Its going to be like 2006-2007, great freakin music came out those years now we got the comeback of Midlake, liars, spoon, Panda bear, eluvium, mgmt.
2010 is looking pretty great
You forgot my favorite modest mouse album, " Building something out of nothing". Kinda been dissappointed in modest mouse lately, kinda sucks man, last couple albums for me have been kinda over kill with Brock's Voice.
