I really liked the Her parody. Like the Wes Anderson parody they did, it showed an awesome attention to the aesthetic of the source. Also it was really funny and the MIchael Cera cameo just great.
Family Tree needed a second season. It was great. I feel like a lot of people watched a few episodes hoping for the typical Christopher Guest thing and were disappointed. If only they had stuck around till the U.S. episodes...
Spotify's mobile app is the worst. Always losing track of my browsing or play position. Right now I'm using Rdio, which is much better in that regard. As for Beats Music, I don't know if I want to support the company responsible for those godawful headphones.
I think the Oscars' lack of women in these nominations is only incidental to the real problem of industry access and women just not occupying these positions. There are fewer women that directed features this year than in past years. This is why In a World...besides being a great film would have been a great pick from the perspective of politics too, as that is what the movie is about.
I wouldn't judge their whole attitude toward women on the basis of just their lastest (meant to type latest but keeping it as lastest cos that's great) film. Remember True Grit? Fargo? But I also thought there was great sympathy for the women in this movie, although they had small roles in the film.
Inside Llewyn Davis is such a huge bummer and upsets lots of narrative expectations, so yeah there was no way that was going to be nominated. But I think that movie is perfect and obviously the best of the year. I saw Sunday then went back 30 minutes later to see it again (yes, like a crazy person).
