Two 311 posts getting downvoted? Don't you guys know money don't lie. 311 is pulling in as much as Sublime w/ Rome, but we all know 311 made concessions to pass the savings on to us, the fans.
Since you put rock star in quotes, I'll take a few liberties. Chazwick Bundick, Kendrick Lamar Duckworth. Perhaps not moreso, but pretty milquetoast. http://a.dilcdn.com/bl/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2013/05/Duckworth.jpg
I think "ambitious" is the most common descriptor I've come across for Owen Pallett's music, and is probably least true for In Conflict. It's AOTW for me, partially under the strength of his live show.
Hmm my NXNE schedule has them playing at the Great Hall on the 18th. Regardless of where it is, I'll likely be at both.
Wait, millennials would be exactly who'd know about them (age range of ~12-32).
Yeah this is huge news. Camouflage Camouflage is one of my favourite songs ever.
Anne Frank Turner would not be an Indie Belieber.
Mother and Jealous Guy are fabulously sad songs. Two of my favourites for sure. I never liked Working Class Hero, though I think it's probably more about the sentiment than the song. I'm sick of Imagine by now, but obviously that should be in here. In fact, I assume it was omitted just because it's obvious that it would be in here.
I bet I was at least as much of a self-indulgent asshole as Beiber when I was his age. In fact, I definitely still am. Fuck Patrick Carney for picking an easy target. And fuck me also I guess.
One of my favourite Neil tunes. Kurt dun it well.
How anyone can be SO militant about animal rights and not be a vegan is beyond me.

I laugh out loud at that "sustained" note that ends the keyboard solo. The singer is out of breath the whole time, and the guitar sounds awful.
If it's anything like this performance, I'll be jealous. /s
Agreed, even though he's always got my upvote.
Yeah, my adblock shows that I blocked 9 ads on this page alone. I shouldn't have to block that many ads.
"Fit the crime?" Maybe they'll make a mural of the vandal, and Dave Grohl gets to deface it however he wants.
This poster sets a real precedent for both font and vertical placement equality. It hardly seems ranked at all.
I'd count All Apologies, because if it wasn't the unplugged version, it woulda been the album version.
In Utero is underrepresented. Although you've picked two great ones. I've always loved Dumb and Frances Farmer.
I listened to Hospice just yesterday. This is good news.
You've got to admit latin music in the pop charts was a massive around the time of Shakira, Ricky and Enrique. I would totally call that a thing. It's definitely a thing, you know? I think that's all Chris is saying.
I'm not sure exactly how I would rank their albums. In Evening Air, On The Water and this album are all great. There isn't a huge progression, or even all that much refinement between them. Also, I realize that Letterman performance went viral, but it still astounded to me how wide a group of people spoke to me about that video. My supervisor told me he kept thinking about it. That really struck me. Having a song stuck in your head is one thing, but to think about a video of a live performance is something special. So neat.
Although come to think of it, I think his exact words were "That cover was different from how they do it".
So far loving it. And I've liked each release less since Lesson in Crime. Also to corroborate, from what I know, they're all pretty rad dudes. Dave Monks once pretended that my band did an okay cover of Cold War Kids - Hang me up to dry.
I can't help but hear a less hooky version of "Young Turks" in "Burning". Seriously great album though.
Oh man, so good. Really excited about this album.
It's okay, I've used this to rationalize torrenting the leak.
No iTunes Radio in Canada. Don't tell me how it ends.
