England’s Glastonbury Festival, the oldest and arguably the most important of the world’s annual gigantic music festivals, just announced its lineup for this year’s show, which goes down 6/27-29. The festival always has one overall headliner, and this year it’s Arcade Fire, which might make this the grandest, most prestigious show in that band’s career. The other acts at the top of the bill include Jack White, the Black Keys, Elbow, Lily Allen, Skrillex, and the inexplicably-huge-in-the-UK Kasabian, who get second billing. (Other big-over-there inclusions: Ed Sheeran, Rudimental, MNEK, Paolo Nutini.) This year’s festival will also have a ton of time-tested legends from a bunch of different genres, some of whom rarely play festivals like this: Dolly Parton, Robert Plant, Pixies, De La Soul, Massive Attack, Blondie, the Wailers, Bryan Ferry, ESG, Dexys Midnight Runners, the Sun Ra Arkestra. And of course, the lower reaches of the lineup are absolutely stacked: Disclosure, M.I.A., James Blake, MGMT, Chance The Rapper, Chvrches, Danny Brown, tUnE-yArDs, Phosphorescent, Interpol, Warpaint, Chromeo, Kelis, Little Dragon, Mogwai, John Grant, Tinariwen, Jurassic 5, Jagwar Ma, London Grammar, Angel Haze, Parquet Courts, Temples, Jamie xx, Courtney Barnett, Chlöe Howl, and tons more.
