According to the article, both Vampire Weekend and DeLonge turned up to the meeting with documentary crews, so there is footage from all sorts of angles of this awkwardness.
In which case, I hope “Batanglij started giggling, and DeLonge turned and looked at him” is as good on tape as it is in my head.
