Not Liturgy. Stripped down to main man/manifesto-penning provocateur Hunter Hunt-Hendrix, Liturgy’s take on Shellac’s “Prayer To God” (part of the AV Club’s Undercover series) is performed a capella, with HHH clean-singing (rather than growling/howling) over an increasing swirl of vocal loops, which take on the effect of a chant behind the hypnotic lead vocal.
