Daft Punk

As Stephen Colbert promised earlier this month, Daft Punk made a rare public appearance at tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards. The robots posed for photos on the red carpet outside Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, and took the stage with Pharrell and Nile Rodgers to present the award for Best Female Video to Taylor Swift. Also, a minute of the rumored “Lose Yourself To Dance” video premiered during a commercial break. A full-length video for “Get Lucky” never materialized, so it’s unclear if this is a preview or this clip is all we’ll get. Watch it, and the video of Taylor getting her award, below.

  1. what a fucking manipulated scheme MTV pulled. All this hype about Daft Punk PERFORMING on the VMAs and they only show a clip of a music video and present a award to some no talent bitch. What an insult. I hope Colbert mentions how much he got screwed over.

  2. This is like that Death Grips fiasco except no one will be mad.

    • I really wish Daft Punk would put out more than keep on blue balling us with all this hyper flashy hype shit.
A little live performance here and there wouldn’t go a miss if that’s you profession and the general public seem to enjoy it.

  3. This is about all the excitement I can muster for Taylor Swift winning even more awards at this point.

  4. Is it OK that this is already my favorite music video of the year?

30 seconds in I was grinning ear to ear.

Nobody wants to talk about how Daft Punk ACTUALLY SHOWED A MUSIC VIDEO AT THE VMAs?!?!

I thought we all knew they wouldn’t perform after we found out they were only going to “appear” on Colbert.
