Jim O'Rourke

Jim O’Rourke has been busy this week. After releasing eight albums’ worth of rare material the other day on Bandcamp, he has a new track up today. “Low Bow” is a supremely gorgeous piece that sounds a little reminiscent of O’Rourke’s excellent 2001 album I’m Happy, And I’m Singing, And A 1, 2, 3, 4. The track will be featured on Air Texture’s Air Texture III compilation, which also includes tracks from other wonderful guitar-deconstructors such as Fennesz and Oren Ambarchi (whom O’Rourke and Keiji Haino made a very different sounding record with earlier this year). Listen below.

Air Texture Vol. III is out 9/23 on Air Texture.

  1. Does anyone know who did the album art for this record that is shown above?

  2. That is one of the pieces of on exhibit at Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla, CA.
It’s a cutout from one of the windows in the museum.
