Alan Licht & Brian Chase – “Immediate Release”

Miles Bowe | April 18, 2014 - 2:02 pm

Alan Licht and Brian Chase recently announced their plan to release a collaborative album. Chase is best known for drumming in the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, while Licht remains a heavyweight of experimental and improvised music (and a pretty great hired gun as you might have heard via Lee Ranaldo’s new band). Their upcoming album, We Thought We Could Do Anything, finds them crafting dense improvisation that drifts like snowstorms. Below you can listen to the song “Immediate Release,” which provides anything but, yet has a glacial loveliness all its own.

We Thought We Could Do Anything is out 5/5 via New Images Ldt.
