Hear Jurassic 5 Sample The White Stripes On Comeback Single "The Way We Do It"

Jurassic 5 hasn’t released any new music since 2006′s Feedback. The group broke up the following year but reunited for a few festival appearances last year, including sets at Coachella, Outside Lands, and Fun Fun Fun Fest. This year the Los Angeles rap group will be even busier — they’ve announced an extensive tour starting in June and they’ve also shared a new song and accompanying video: the Heavy D-produced “The Way We Do It,” which samples the White Stripes’ “My Doorbell.” Listen to the new song and check out the tour dates below.

  1. This makes me realize how much I had forgotten that Jurassic 5 ever existed (not that they were bad) and just how much I miss the White Stripes

  2. I think this is dope, I really love the little Dilla-y breakdown around the three minute mark.

I think we were all just a little j5 over-saturated when they had so much crossover success in the early aughts, but it’s refreshing to hear them bouncing off each other and clearly having fun.

  3. I was a big J5 fan, and 2na never had the solo success that I was hoping he would have… Very excited to hear this come out, and good timing for the summer!

One issue I have is that they are going to Denver, but not playing where they shot the video (Red Rocks Amphitheater). Weird and a bad decision…
