New Jersey punk outfit Dads has come a long way since their debut American Radass and breakthrough EP Pretty Good. They’ve always been capable of sweeping grandness — see the breath-taking “No We’re Not Actually” — and their new song “Fake Knees” continues that progression. The track takes place in a heightened world where having coffee breath is tantamount to an epiphany and an outpatient center is the equivalent of purgatory. It’s a quieter, more considered Dads, which is a good sound for them. Listen below.
Dads’ sophomore album I’ll Be The Tornado is out 10/14 on 6131 Records.
