John Lennon's Killer Denied Parole For The 8th Time

John Lennon’s killer, Mark David Chapman, has been denied parole for an eighth time, according to NY Daily News. Chapman, who shot the musician outside the Dakota in 1980, was given a 20-years-to-life sentence. The panel responsible for assessing his parole said that his release “would be incompatible with the welfare of society and would so deprecate the serious nature of the crime as to undermine respect for the law.” Yoko Ono told the parole board that she opposed his release out of fear for herself and Lennon’s two sons and also added that she was worried he could face retaliation from one of Lennon’s fans if he were to be released. Chapman is serving out his sentence in upstate New York’s Wende Correctional Facility and has had a clean disciplinary record since 1994. He will be up for parole again in two years.

  1. It seems pretty damn outrageous the state of NY makes the Lennon family go through this appeal process every two years. Is he up for parole every two years for as long as he lives (or rather as long as he’s denied parole and still lives)?

  2. If lennon were alive today he’d grant him parole. Isn’t lennon teaching us to forgive our fellow man?

  3. yeah, the dude’s crazy and it goes against reason to trust him out in the real world. and he killed John Lennon. Fuck ‘im.

  4. He’s human garbage. I don’t give a shit what happens to him one way or the other.

  5. If he killed some joe blow off the street, he probably would be out by now…but hey, you killed John Lennon, so bask in your glory in your prison cell.

  7. My sister was raped and and stabbed to death on my 11th birthday 25 yrs ago this year in NY. My mother killed herself as a result. The raping murderer is up for parole for the first time this year and every two years for the rest of my life starting this year. So from the bottom of my broken heart …
    FUCK YOU NEW YORK.
