Since we met them, gifted young Brooklyn rap duo the Underachievers have seem to exist in a sort of self-created echo chamber, working only with each other and their closest allies in New York’s internet-rap underground. So it’s cool to hear them finally branching out a bit, working with the grizzled Philly Roc-A-Fella veteran Freeway on their syntactically questionable new song “3hree Kings.” As it turns out, Freeway’s raw, emotive, bust-a-vein style makes a nice complement to their insular wordiness. Free just monsters his verse, too. Listen to the track below.
