Since the release of Wye Oak’s excellent, nearly guitar-less LP Shriek, the Baltimore duo have contributed synthy remixes to songs from Wilsen and Sylvan Esso. Now it’s other artists’ turn to remix Wye Oak. With a digital-only deluxe edition of Shriek out today, the band have shared a stunning remix of album track “Despicable Animal”, courtesy of fellow Baltimore artists Future Islands and Moss Of Aura. The remix retains the track’s gentle synth textures but foregoes the skittering drums for a sugary, pulsating groove.
