Stream Microwave Much Love

Last month, we named Atlanta-based four-piece Microwave a Band To Watch and talked to frontman Nathan Hardy, an ex-Mormon who uses the songs on their sophomore album, Much Love, to explore the complexities that crop up when you lose faith in both god and love, and are forced to find meaning in your own life without either structure to latch onto. We’ve heard some early standout singles in the form of “Vomit,” “Lighterless,” and “Busy,” and today the band is streaming the album in full a few days ahead of its official release. It’s filled with blistering, powerful rock songs that feel like a maturation from the quiet-loud dynamics of their 2014 debut, Stovall — my favorite right now is “Dull,” a slick and hooky track about when the spark in a relationship inevitably dies, but there’s plenty more where that came from. Much Love is out 9/30 via SideOneDummy Records.
