Beach Slang – “Bored Teenagers” (The Adverts Cover)

The members of Beach Slang have been through some turmoil lately, but that won’t stop them from playing the songs they love for you. Back in 2015, around the same time they released their great debut The Things We Do To Find People Like Us, the Philly punks also shared the all-covers EP Here I Made This For You. Today, they announce plans for a second all-covers EP called Here I Made This For You Mixtape Volume II. The new EP features covers of songs from the Modern Lovers, the Candyskins, and Tommy Keane. And perhaps most intriguingly, it’s also got their version of the great Jesus And Mary Chain/Hope Sandoval duet “Sometimes Always.” And it opens with the song they’ve shared today: A short, sharp, faithful cover of the Adverts’ 1978 UK punk classic “Bored Teenagers.” Check it out below.

Here I Made This For You Mixtape Volume II is out 2/10 on Polyvinyl. Read our cover story on the band here.
