It’s been a while since I’ve been this excited about a new release.

    The anticipation feels great.

The single for The Greatest sounds so damn lush and full, I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.

  6. stupid player, the second song is definitely “living proof”. hopefully this is the only mistake in the stream.

  7. Love this album… so much good stuff coming out January 24th!

Hey… anyone shocked to hear the beloved anti-consumerites Gang of Four on The O.C. last night? They played “I Love a Man in Uniform” and I almost choked on a Frito/Lay(TM) Cheeto(R) (mmmm…delicious, and now in Natural White Cheddar Flavor!)

  8. this album sounds really great

Anybody see the Cat Power article in the Fader? The pics were really cool, but the interview left me wanting more. She is the shit

  11. Definitely a step up from her past work–so good I might actually buy it–but it really doesn’t sound much different from any given Beth Orton record to me. (Not that that’s a bad thing, but it’s not an indication of genius.)

And don’t even get me started on the southern soul thing – just because you record in a city doesn’t mean you’ve got a connection (musical or otherwise) with its most brilliant musicians. That just reeked of hype.
