When I posted “Down By The Water,” I wondered aloud how Jonathan Pierce would robot dance to the track, the Drums’ most balladic, down-tempo moment. The answer arrives via the track’s stylishly mannered black and white video, which was directed by the band with Surround‘s Brian and Brad Palmer. The Drums explain the inspiration behind it, their band, and (ergo) the choreography:

We wanted the “Down by the Water” video to directly reflect the song itself, and be as simple as possible. Both the video and song are a tribute to the girl groups of the 50′s and 60′s, a great inspiration to the band and one of the reasons we started it.
