LCD Soundsystem stopped by The Colbert Report last night to play “I Can Change,” and James Murphy sat down with Colbert to talk about retirement and ending LCD Soundsystem. (His beef with ticket scalpers didn’t come up.) He confirmed that the show was their very last TV appearance. Murphy also said he was 41 so it was time to retire, though Colbert reminded him that he only started LCD in his 30s. So keep that in mind if you think it’s too late to have a rock career: It’s not too late. Unless you are already 41+, in which case, Murphy says it’s too late. Watch the interview and “I Can Change” below (the stills are pixelated, but the video isn’t) :

This Is Happening is out now via DFA.

  1. when you have someone like james murphy on the show you gotta let him talk more. he’s a funny guy.

  2. He’s holding the album wrong.

  3. nope that is This is Happening, he should have had a vinyl copy though for bigger artwork.

  4. I love Nancy at the very very very end of the video. That was a great way to sign out on a TV performance.
