Weird Al - Apocalypse

Weird Al has a new album out next week and as you might’ve guessed it includes a medley of polka versions of recent pop hits. Check out the song below and see if you can name all fourteen songs he’s covering.

Cheat sheet:
(“Liechtensteiner Polka” by Will Glahé)
“Poker Face” by Lady Gaga
“Womanizer” by Britney Spears
“Right Round” by Flo Rida
“Day ’n’ Nite” by Kid Cudi
“Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum
“Baby” by Justin Bieber
“So What” by Pink
“I Kissed A Girl” by Katy Perry
“Fireflies” by Owl City
“Blame It” by Jamie Foxx
“Replay” by Iyaz
“Down” by Jay Sean
“Break Your Heart” by Taio Cruz
(“The Tick Tock Polka” by Frankie Yankovic)
“Tik Tok” by Ke$ha
(“Poker Face (Reprise)” by Lady Gaga)
(“Whatever’s Left Over Polka” by “Weird Al” Yankovic)

Apocalypse is out 6/21 via Volcano. I’m still disappointed the album doesn’t have a parody of Kanye (Feat. Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minjaj, Justin Vernon) called “Lobster.”

  1. This is more satisfying than Girl Talk’s entire discography.

    • Really? You honestly think that an artist that makes mock versions of pop songs, in the same vein as so many a morning talk show dj, with hokey lyrics and an almost entirely insufferable voice is more satisfying than Girl Talk? Really?

      • Girl Talk couldn’t do what Al does. He’s a brilliant Musician, Arranger and all his album’s have original songs on them. These polka arrangements require incredible skill and everyone performing on them is a high calibur professional musician. Garage bands and mash-up DJs couldn’t do it. Morning show djs are not composers and arrangers and can’t even do lyrics as well as all does when he matches nearly every syllable. You know not of what you speak.

  2. Weird Al makes me want to learn to play the accordion

  6. so so so funny. weird al is the man when it comes to parodies. he’s like the musical version of the “scary movie” trilogy… hilarious! can’t wait to hear more than just the gaga cover! (there’s gotta be a beiber cover… right?!!)
