Jay Electronica - "Call Of Duty"

The beloved underground-rap quasi-recluse Jay Electronica releases new music so infrequently that every new track from him counts as some kind of event. Today, he’s given us a new joint called “Call Of Duty (Modern Warfare 3),” and we know he just recorded the thing since his lyrics mention the death of Steve Jobs. The track has a queasy, ungainly beat and a slurry verse and hook from Prodigy, one half of the hall-of-fame Queensbridge duo Mobb Deep. Listen below.

It’s pretty weird to hear Prodigy say “throw your diamonds in the sky,” considering all the history there.
