Either one could be first place:
1a) Hounds of Love
1b) The Dreaming
3) Never for Ever (Such an odd and catchy album. The cover is the best of hers also.)
4) Lionheart (I've always found this album to be more capturing than The Kick Inside and it has better singles like "Wow" and "Hammer Horror".)
5) The Sensual World ("This Woman's Work" is my favourite Kate Bush song.)
6) 50 Words for Snow (It's like I'm listening to a winter story book.)
7) The Kick Inside (I only ever really play "Wuthering Heights".)
8) Aerial (Could have been one album worth of material. "The Coral Room" is one of her best songs though.)
9) The Red Shoes (Her only album that sounds dated and that track with Prince makes me cringe.)
Disco, over seven minutes long, produced by James Murphy, featuring David Bowie and both Win and Regine share vocals. I may have found my song of the year.
Le Tigre were one of my favourite bands when I was in high school and I still love their debut like no other.
This would be my top 10:
Eau D'bedroom Dancing
The the Empty
Deceptacon
F.Y.R.
Get Off the Internet
Tell You Now
My Art
What's Yr Take On Casavetes
Hot Topic
They Want Us to Make A Symphony Out of the Sound of Women Swallowing Their Own Tongues
I thought I was the only person who thought "They Want Us to Make A Symphony..." was a great song.
1. ( )
2. Takk…
3. Ágætis byrjun
4. Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust
5. Von
6. Valtari
I cant rank Kveikur yet because I've only listened to it once.
Glass Candy is my favourite Italians Do It Better band, you have to listen to their B/E/A/T/B/O/X album. Their version of "Computer Love" by Kraftwerk is a must from them, they do such a great job at it.
First I thought it was Miguel jumping over the audience and doing a split landing, then quickly after I realized it was a fall and I thought, eeh, not that embarrassing, but it wasn't till after 1 minute of watching that loop (hey, it's 6AM where I'm at, I just woke up and I'm still in a half sleep trance) that I noticed he slammed some girls face into the stage.
I never thought I'd ever see "Vox Humana" mentioned as a great Deerhunter song, it's one of my favs as well.
I also wanna add that Floodlight Collective is very underrated. "Red Oak Way", "Quicksand" and my favourite, "Sunday Night", which is also one of my favourite songs to come out of Deerhunter/Atlas Sound/Lotus Plaza collective, are fantastic.
One thing I think everyone should do is check out the Lotus Plaza Valentine's Day single from last year titled "Come Back". If you enjoy the guitar solos at the end of those popular Deerhunter songs, the one from this lasts 5 minutes.
