Stream Majical Cloudz Impersonator
As I said in my writeup of the band’s recently released track “Bugs Don’t Buzz“: Montreal sorta-duo Majical Cloudz’s forthcoming LP Impersonator is an album best experienced as an album; it invites and rewards immersion. As I also said in that same space: Point blank, it’s one of the best albums I’ve heard this year. These two statements remain true today, and now, you can put them to the test — Pitchfork is streaming Impersonator in full. It’s an absorbing, intimate collection that puts a tight focus on Devon Welsh’s rich baritone and evocative lyrics. I like it even more now than I did two weeks ago, actually, thanks to Cole’s fantastic interview with Welsh, who’s a truly thoughtful, engaging person. Read the interview at the link in the sentence preceding this one, and check out the album here.
Impersonator is out 5/21 via Matador.
