Toronto punk band Odonis Odonis are getting ready to put out their new album Hard Boiled, Soft Boiled this spring. For a taste of the “hard boiled” side of the record you can listen to their recent single “New Obsession.” Their new Johnny Cash cover does not appear on the record, but it definitely falls on the dissonant side of the band’s wide spectrum. Over waves of dense guitar haze and metallic screeches the band takes Cash’s song and blends stoned drones with amphetamine rushes. Listen to it below.
