After years stuck in production purgatory, James Brown’s biopic, Get On Up, is finally coming out this year. The film is directed by Tate Taylor of The Help, produced by Mick Jagger, and stars Chadwick Boseman, who recently played Jackie Robinson in 2013’s biopic 42, as Brown. It’s planned for an August release, which is sort of that perfect time to catch the summer blockbuster crowd while still staying in the picture for Oscar season. Get On Up also stars Viola Davis, Oscar winner Octavia Spencer, and Dan Aykroyd. Watch the trailer below, and keep an eye out for Craig Robinson as one of Brown’s band members.
