Operator – “Requirements” (Stereogum Premiere)

New York noise-pop quartet Operator bring lo-fi krautrock to Brooklyn, thriving on bold bass, drawling verses, and experimental guitars. New single “Requirements,” taken from their debut EP Puzzlephonics I, sees the band focus on deep grooves embedded between stuttering drums and anarchic noise rock. Dara Hirsch’s intoxicating, lingering vocals slur, “Whose side are you on, at the end of the day?” It’s deliriously addictive, helping to make Operator’s abstract noise dissonance such a compelling endeavor. Listen below.

Tracklist:
01 “I, Banana”
02 “Requirements”
03 “Mr Director”
04 “Trauma”
05 “EE UNSH”

Puzzlephonics I will be self-released 10/9 following an album release show in Brooklyn’s Reverse Gallery.
