Inventions is a supergroup of sorts composed of ambient-music titan Matthew T. Cooper of Eluvium, and Explosions In The Sky guitarist Mark T. Smith. The duo shared their initial vision for the project via last year’s self-titled album, and have (at least) two releases planned for this year as well. In March they shared their full-length second album, Maze Of Woods, and will release the Blanket Waves EP on 10/16. Since the EP only contains two 12-minute tracks, they’ve shared what amounts to a snippet of one today. Stream the “Hearing Loss” (Sample Edit) below and look out for the EP coming next week.
