When we shared “Sometimes,” the title track from Goldmund’s new album, I gushed about as much as someone can gush about ethereal piano instrumentals. Well, the whole album is out this Friday, and it merits further gushing. The young composer has mastered a formula — simple, sentimental piano figures backed by atmospheric swells that come and go like the tides — and he rarely diverges from it. Why should he? It works, and it keeps working, as you’ll hear below.
Sometimes is out 11/13 digitally and on CD via Western Vinyl, with vinyl release to follow 1/22. Pre-order it here.
