Here’s a Deerhoof song unlike any before. “That Ain’t No Life To Me,” the latest advance single from The Magic, is not the first time Satomi Matsuzaki has ceded the microphone to one of the guys in Deerhoof, but it does mark the first lead vocal turn by guitarist Ed Rodriguez. It’s also more of a scuzzy, straightforward punk-rock track than we’ve come to expect from this band, so you may be surprised when you press play below.
