Newly minted Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs has been keeping himself busy with a little musical called Hamilton — you might have heard of it — but somehow, he’s found the time to write and record some new Clipping. material. The experimental noise-rap trio have just dropped a six-song EP called Wriggle, their first release since 2014’s excellent CLPPNG, featuring guest spots from Antwon, Signor Benedick The Moor, Cakes Da Killa, Maxi Wild, and Nailah Middleton. To make “Shooter,” the group recorded themselves firing 15 different guns, and the title track is built around a sample of Whitehouse’s “Wriggle Like a Fucking Eel.” Hear the whole thing below.
The Wriggle EP is out now. A new Clipping. full-length is also on the way, and will be available worldwide this fall on Sub Pop/Deathbomb Arc.
