Excellent British teen folk darling Billie Marten seemingly couldn’t make a song that wasn’t beautiful if she tried. Her debut full-length effort, Writing Of Blues And Yellows, is shaping up to be no-skip gorgeousness. “Lionhearted” is the latest pretty thing she’s graced us with, and today it receives a visual treatment by director Allie Avital. It’s a gloomy, slow-mo affair in which the home Marten has made for herself is slowly vacated and demolished. The video is exquisitely shot with rich hues and creeping, sweeping camera movements as a mover/demolition crew destroys everything around Marten and she’s left alone in the ruins. It’s understated, but stunning. Watch.
